Installing Pathway Tools Patches

This page provides instructions for installing patch files for Pathway Tools software.

Auto-Patch

To automatically install all relevant patches:

• Select menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Download and Activate All Patches
• If that causes an error message to appear, you can instead download all the relevant patches from the Internet, using a web browser, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. The instructions depend on which operating system your BioCyc or Pathway Tools is installed on and which version number (shown as [[VERSION]] below; version is formatted like 7.5) of BioCyc or Pathway Tools you have:
  • Solaris:
    • Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Solaris/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/ .
    • Download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Solaris/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-sparc-solaris/
    • Select menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Activate Installed Patches.
  • Linux:
    • Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Linux/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/ .
    • Download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Linux/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-x86-linux/
    • Select menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Activate Installed Patches.
  • Linux 64 bit:
    • Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Linux-64/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/
    • Download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Linux-64/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-amd64-linux/
    • Select menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Activate Installed Patches.
  • MacOS (x86):
    • Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/MacOSX/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[version]]/patches/
    • Download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/MacOSX/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-x86-macosx/
    • Select menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Activate Installed Patches.
  • MS Windows:
    • Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/MSWindows/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[version]]/patches/
    • Download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/MSWindows/patches/ and save them to aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-0-x86-mswindows/
    • Select menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Activate Installed Patches.

Patches that We Email You

• Save the files to:
  • .lisp files (all platforms):
    • aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/
  • .fasl files:
    • (Solaris) aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-sparc-solaris/
    • (Linux) aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-x86-linux/
    • (Linux-64) aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-amd64-linux/
    • (MacOSX) aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-1-x86-macosx/
    • (MS Windows) aic-export/pathway-tools/ptools/[[VERSION]]/patches/bin-acl-8-0-x86-mswindows
• Then, select the menu command Tools->Instant Patch->Activate Installed Patches
